Additonally functionally is provided to the OpenLAB ECM through plug-ins that act to connect features of commonly-used software to OpenLAB ECM.
MS Office Desktop Client
This optional software provides laboratory users with a unique and convenient link of their PC desktop information directly into the content repository in OpenLAB - Operating System for the Laboratory. The Desktop Client installs on users desktop PCs and places a special graphic "toolbar" into Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Outlook. As users conduct their day to day operation of these popular applications, they can use the Content Manager toolbar to access directly the content repository and access documents that are in the repository for safekeeping. Moreover, as they choose to save or store a working document through these applications, they can easily browse within the content management repository.
Adobe Acrobat eSignature
 Electronic PDF documents managed by the secure OpenLAB ECM content management repository can be subjected electronic signatures from authorized users through a special plug in for Adobe Acrobat. This plug-in can be installed on desktop PCs and, with Adobe Acrobat, provides a safe, easy, and convenient way for any laboratory to provide secure electronic signatures to all PDF documents. The plug-in supports multiple signatures and can include documented records of date/time, reason for signoff, and location. |
