To use this script, follow the GeneList From VariationList with BP Tolerance instruction below.
- Expand the Scripts folder in the GeneSpring GT navigator. Click on the script named GeneList From VariationList with BP Tolerance.
- In the script window, select the desired variation list from the mini-navigator on the left side.
- Enter the ExpansionFactor; e.g., 30 or 50 to allow for the search of genes that overlap upstream and downstream of selected SNPs. The ExpansionFactor value refers to the number of bases up or downstream of SNPs.
- Click Start.
- The following is the resulting window containing the list of genes associated with the variation list of SNPs used to run the script. (Note: You can disregard values in the proportion column value shown in the resulting window. It is irrelevant for the purpose of this script.).
- Save the gene list.
