Traditionally, analysis of metals in foods has required multiple techniques in order to cover the range of elements, concentrations and food types. Now the Agilent 7700x ICP-MS is capable of accurately analyzing a variety of food matrices for trace and major levels of contaminating metals using a single collision method. The method is simple to set up and operate and permits large numbers of samples to be quickly screened for total toxic metals. Samples found to contain toxic metals can be further analyzed for specific metal contamination using Agilent hyphenated ICP-MS techniques such as LC or GC-ICP-MS. View entire application note.
