This instructional video demonstrates the steps to disassembly the extraction lens assembly from the 7500 ICP-MS system.
The following items are needed to maintain the ion lenses:
- Safety glasses
- Waterproof sandpaper (#400 / #1200 grit, Agilent P/N G1833-65404)
- Protective laboratory gloves
- Allen wrench (3mm)
- Allen wrench (4mm)
- Jewel Driver (Phillips)
- Phillips screwdriver
- Tweezers
- 2% detergent solution
- Alumina powder (Agilent P/N 8660-0791)
- Pure water (Pure water is defined here as having been generated using ion exchange and a membrane filter, and having an electrical resistance of over 18MΩ.)
- Methanol (HPLC Grade)
- Cotton swabs (Agilent P/N 9300-2574)
- Ultrasonic bath
- Laboratory disposable lint free paper towels
- Glass beaker (Large, small)
- Plastic tray
- Ohm meter
* Use clean tools and powder-free gloves that are resistant to organic solvents (methanol)
