  • Has the Column Been Tested with ''Compromised'' Plasma Samples (e.g. Hemolytic, Lipimic, Exteric)?
Yes, several users of the Multiple Affinity Removal System in the field have demonstrated its utility for depleting high-abundant proteins from serum of diseased patients. The use of polyclonal antibodies in the affinity column offers a significant advantage in that one is not relying on single epitopes for protein capture such as with monoclonal antibodies. This can be important when working with samples from diseased sources that may have different post-translational modifications (PTMs) or sequence variations that may impact the binding epitope of the target protein. Furthermore, the column removes fragments of these proteins as well.
