KB005168: What does Error Message "MS in use by another user" Indicate? - MS ChemStation  

The Server Error 32 and MS in use by another user errors occur with G1701DA Rev. D.01.02 and G1701DA Rev. D.02.00
This is directly related to the number of times the MSD chemstation is started in relation to the power cycles of the MSD.
With G1701DA Rev. D.01.02 and G1701DA Rev. D.00.02, it is observed that after the 36th startup of chemstation, the Server 32 error is reported and after 19th startup of the chemstation the MS is in use by another user error will be reported.

To avoid these errors, power cycle the MS before the critical number of chemstation restarts. This should be done once or twice a week.
