Typically you can recover from this error by following the steps below:
Exit the ChemStation and reboot the PC. Do not start the ChemStation at this time.
Next, the Smartcard in the 5973N MSD will need to be reset. Attempt this by using the display on the MSD (LUI) by pressing
Menu repeatedly until
Conroller menu is displayed. Next, press the
Item button until
Reboot Controller? is displayed. Select the
Yes/Select key. If this fails to reboot the MSD controller, then the MSD must be powered off and then back on. Allow three to five seconds (no more) before powering the MSD back on.
