  • Is it possible to analyze changes in protein expression in a cell lysate?
The Protein 230 and the High Sensitivity Protein 250 assay are well suited to detect small differences in protein expression, by directly comparing the electropherograms. If this is appropriate for a specific application depends on the degree of the change in protein expression and if the effected protein co-migrates with a very abundant protein. To achieve a higher resolution and to enrich the protein of question prior to the high sensitivity analysis with the 2100 bioanalyzer, it is suggested to perform a pI-based 3100 OFFGEL fractionation. Please refer to the application note available from our webpage for more details on this application.
