  • Does the intercalating dye stain all proteins with the same efficiency?
There is currently no protein dye available that will stain all proteins with the same intensity. This is true for the Protein 80 or Protein 230 fluorescent dye, but also for other dyes such as Coomassie or silver stain. For more accurate protein quantification it is required to do an absolute quantification based on calibration standards with known concentrations, which is supported by the 2100 expert software.
