  • How can the Compatibility of a Dye with the 2100 Bioanalyzer be Determined?
The 2100 bioanalyzer is capable of two-color fluorescence detection. The red laser has an excitation maximum at approx. 630 nm (detection maximum at 680 nm), whereas the excitation maximum of the blue LED is at 470 nm (detection maximum at 525 nm). To use a specific dye or label with the 2100 bioanalyzer, the excitation as well as the emission spectra must match with these values. In addition the labeling efficiency must be high enough. The cell staining protocol may need optimization (dye concentration, incubation time and temperature…).
