  • Why Doesn't Acquisition Start When Using the Manual Injection Valve (G1949A)?
When you are installing a G1949A manual injection valve on an LC/MSD, you must burn a value into the SmartCard non-volatile RAM that tells the system that there is a manual injection valve. If you do not do this, the system will not detect the start signal when an injection is made through the manual injection valve. How you set the value depends on whether you have rev. A.05.0x or A.06.01 and greater.
      • For rev. A.05.0x, type on the command line: msscwrite ":msc:parm:pset msvalvep,1"
      • For rev. A.06.01 and greater, type on the command line: setnvr
A dialog box will be displayed where you can select the Present button in the MS Injection Valve Option section. (Note: the msscwrite... command will work for rev. A.06.01 and greater also.) This must be done in addition to selecting Use MSD Manual Injector from the Run Control menu in the Method & Run Control view in the LC/MSD ChemStation. You will also need to repeat the above steps if the SmartCard is ever replaced.
