  • What are the Considerations When Using the ELSD with Other Detectors?
As a consumptive detector, the ELS detector is the last one in the flow path or can be used with a splitter in combination with other consumptive detectors. The standard nebulizer used at a flow rate of 1 ml/min generates a back-pressure of 4 bar, which is compatible with most other flow cells. Depending on the selected nebulizer, a back pressure of up to 44 bar is generated for high flow rates, which is not compatible with some flow cells, see respective user manuals for details else contact Agilent Technologies for details.
