We could update the annotations by the following ways:
From Agilent Server:
This is applicable for all the standard technologies supported by GeneSpring GX.
Please go to Annotations > Update Technology > From Agilent Server > Select the technology > click update
From Agilent eArray:
If you are working with Agilent eArray, give the user name and the password and select the technology.
From File:
Prior to updating the annotations from file,it should be saved in any folder/desktop.Then follow the below steps in GeneSpring:
• Go to Annotations > Update Technology > from File or Biological Genome
• Choose the Technology that you are working with and select the option 'from file'
• Browse to the file that you have saved and follow the wizard
From Biological Genome:
1. Please go to Annotations> Create Biological Genome> Select the Organism> Download from ncbi ftp site or from Local folder
2. After downloading the Genome, please go to Annotations > Update Technology> from File or Biological Genome
3. Choose the Technology that you are working with and select the option 'from Biological Genome'.
4. Choose the Identifier and the annotation columns to update and click Finish.
