Long Description / Installation Notes:

The Applications Development Language (ADL) is a spectroscopy language which is built into the Cary software. It uses simple, English words to perform common spectroscopic functions. For example, "collect" starts a data collection, "curvefit" fits a curve. Many ADL programs available for you to download. If you can't find one that exactly meets your requirements, you may be able to modify another program to do your application.

The following ADL programs are available for the Cary WinUV software (version 2 or later). Note that as most ADL programs require the ADL Shell program, it is recommended that you also download the ADL Patch to ensure that you have the latest ADL capabilities installed on your computer system.

If the ADL programs are for a particular accessory, they are listed by the accessory name (for example, RSA for Routine Sampler Accessory). If the ADL programs are for a particular software application, they are listed by the application name (for example, Dissolution).

WinUV ADL - ADLPatch
ADL Shell v2.24(144) + ADL WinUV Program selector. For Cary WinUV Version 2 software only. (Cary WinUV version 3 software contains the ADL Shell)
WinUV ADL – Advanced Reads KMnO4 Hook
Enables KMnO4 and K2MnO4 to be analysed using the Advanced Reads application.
WinUV ADL – Advanced Reads Multi-wavelength TimeStamp Hook
Enables multiple wavelength reads to be performed using the Advanced Reads application.
WinUV ADL – Advanced Reads Pass / Fail Hook
Enables you to report only those results that fall within a user-specified range.
WinUV ADL – Calibrate Cell Changer
Optimizes the cell positions for the Cary 50/100/300 multi-cell holders. Not suitable for use with Cary 400/500/4000/5000 instruments.
WinUV ADL – Chlorophyll
Calculates the concentrations of all chlorophyll- species with the "Method of revised extinction coefficients" algorithm.
WinUV ADL – Concentration Deriv2 Diff Hook
Scans each sample and takes the second derivative of the scan.
WinUV ADL – Concentration Fix Db Node Hook
Fixes problem caused by the database node "Current Solution Description".
WinUV ADL – Concentration GetRawStandardVals
Extends the capabilities of the Concentration application by collecting the values of the replicate readings for each standard and outputting them to a file. Not designed to be run from the Program selector.
WinUV ADL – Concentration More Decimals Hook
Prints out the calibration equation and the raw readings with more decimal places than normally appear in the report.
WinUV ADL – Concentration Peak Area Hook
Enables scanning of each sample and calculates the area under the peak to determine the reading. For Version 3 and above.
WinUV ADL – Concentration SampleScan Hook
Extends the capabilities of the Concentration application, by enabling scans to be performed on each sample. Standards are not scanned.
WinUV ADL – Concentration Save Calibration Hook
Outputs the calibration coefficients to a text file. Used in conjunction with Dissolution Intercept Correction hook. Concentration application, Version 2.
WinUV ADL – Convert Scan To Wavenumber
Converts nm traces to wave number traces. Not designed to be run from the Program Selector.
WinUV ADL – Convert To dB
Converts traces measured in %T, %R or Abs to dB.Not designed to be run from the Program Selector.
WinUV ADL – Cytochrome P450 or B5
Provides the capability to collect and analyse data for either Cytochrome P-450 or B-5.
WinUV ADL – Dissolution 2 Baths 2 Wavelengths Cary50 Hook
Enables two different wavelengths to be used. For Cary 50 instruments only.
WinUV ADL – Dissolution Deriv2 Hook
Extends the capabilities of the Dissolution application by enabling it to calculate the second derivative of a trace.
WinUV ADL – Dissolution Dual Wavelength Hook
Extends the capabilities of the Dissolution application by enabling it to collect data at 249 and 300 nm and to calculate the difference Abs(249) - Abs(300).
WinUV ADL – Dissolution Intercept Correction Hook
Extends the capabilities of the Dissolution and Concentration applications. Corrects the intercept problem in multi standard calibrations in version 2.0.
WinUV ADL – Dissolution Manual Data Collection
Enables the absorbance values of solutions which have been manually pulled from a dissolution bath to manually entered and/or read.
WinUV ADL – Dissolution Wavelength Scan Hook
Enables a wavelength scan to be performed on a sample in order to determine the analytical wavelength at which the dissolution analysis should be run.
WinUV ADL – Dual Wavelengths With Factors
Enables readings to be taken at two wavelengths and automatically multiplied by two specified factors.
WinUV ADL – Gel Scan
Performs distance scans and calculates the relative area under the peaks or the molecular weight.
WinUV ADL – General
A series of simple programs that demonstrate some features and capabilities of ADL. Note these programs do not run from the ADL program selector. They can be run from the ADL command line or from the ADL editor.
WinUV ADL – Kinetics Scans At Temperature Increments
This program allows the user to collect kinetics scans at temperature intervals.

WinUV ADL – Multi-cell Dual Wavelength Reads Cary50
Provides the flexibility to enter samples or blanks in every available cell position. For Cary 50 instruments only. Can also do kinetics measurements

Provides the flexibility to enter samples or blanks in every available cell position. For Cary 50 instruments only.
WinUV ADL – Multi-component Kalman
Uses the Kalman filter algorithm to determine the concentration of up to 10 components in a mixture.
WinUV ADL – Multi-wavelength Collection
Enables you to select and archive up to 12 wavelengths at which to take readings.
WinUV ADL – Oligo Molecular Weight Calculations
Determines the average and mono isotopic molecular weights of oligonucleotides, peptides and conjugates.
WinUV ADL – PCB 150 Enzyme Kinetics Cary 100 Hook
Prints the temperature of the probes to the report. For Cary 100 instruments only.
WinUV ADL – pKa
Determines the pKa by calculating the first derivative of the Absorbance v's pH curve.
WinUV ADL – Program Selector
Required for most ADL programs, unless otherwise stated.
WinUV ADL – RBA Accessory
Drives the Series II RBA accessory.
WinUV ADL – RSA Color Hook
Extends the capabilities of the Color application, enabling it to be used with the RBA accessory.

Uses the thermostatted RSA to collect wavelength scans at temperature intervals (-10 deg to 100deg temp range). Multiple temperature ramps can be performed.
WinUV ADL – Scan Collects At Distance Hook
Extends the capabilities of the Scan application, enabling scans to be performed at various nominated distances along the x slide. It can be used to perform scans along a film.
WinUV ADL – Scan Detector Grating Wavelength Selection Cary 500 Hook
Expands the capabilities of the Scan Application by enabling the Detector and Grating wavelength changeover points to be set. For Cary 500 instruments only.
WinUV ADL – Scan Extract Abs Wavelength Hook
This ADL hook for the Scan application allows you to perform scans, and then prints out the abs readings at specified wavelengths
WinUV ADL – Scan Multi-component Cramer
Uses the CRAMER-Algorithm to find the solution of a quadratic-(n,n)-matrix.
WinUV ADL - Scan Multi-wavelength Report Hook
Enables scanning and reporting of up to eight wavelengths using the Scan application.

Enables a series of wavelength scans to be performed at temperature intervals as specified by a Start, End and interval temperature set.

WinUV ADL – Spectral Subtraction
Automates the spectral subtraction of 2 stored data files.
WinUV ADL – Thermal Collects
Performs various thermal scans, including wavelength scans at temperature intervals, Kinetics scans at wavelength intervals, or ordinary abs v's Temperature scans.
WinUV ADL – Thin Film Calculations
Calculates thickness or refractive index of a thin film.
WinUV ADL - User Collect Mode
These files correct the possibility of incorrect data collection. They are available for all applications where User Collect mode is available. Cary WinUV v2.0 & 3.0, Pharma 2.5 & 3.1.
WinUV ADL – Water Merck Tests
Automates all the Merck Environmental and Water analysis tests which appear in the Merck Spectroquant catalogue.
WinUV ADL – Wavelength Scans at Temperature Increments
Uses the thermostat cell changer to collect wavelength scans at temperature intervals. Multiple temperature ramps can be performed.
