Because computer operating systems change more rapidly than the SpectrAA instruments, this guide shows which combinations of SpectrAA model, operating system and accessories are supported. Use this before deciding whether to change operating system and SpectrAA software.

Notes
- Generally the model pairs 30/300, 30Z/300Z, 40/400, 40Z/400Z, 200/640 have identical hardware. The biggest difference is firmware.
Models with "Plus" indicated extra software or accessory support was included.
- The PSD 95 is compatible with the GTA 96. The PSD 95 is also known as the PSD 96. The PSD 96 is directly equivalent to the PSD 95 and should not be confused with the PSD 96 Plus.
The current PSD is also known as the PSD 96 Plus and the PSD 97. Current practice is to not assign a model number.
- The 10/20 models require hardware modifications and an external PC.
- The upgrade kits for the SpectrAA 250 to Windows software has been discontinued.
- The 600/600Z models require slight hardware modifications and an external PC.
- The 100/200 models with interlock gasbox require slight hardware modification.
- The VGA 76/77 and the ETC-60 accessories work with any AA spectrometer.
- The 300/400 models are supported for flame-only operation and only in countries with 50 Hz mains frequency.

Notes
- The GTA 96 and GTA 97 are cosmetically different, have different workheads and support different PSD models. They can be used interchangeably.
- The GTA 100 and GTA 110 are identical except for cosmetic appearance.
- The PSD 96 has the carousel sitting above the body.
- The current PSD has the carousel recessed.
- The carousel has three versions. All have fifty 2 mL positions.
- The PSD-96 carousel has three 25 mL positions in one configuration around the handle
- The PSD-97 carousel has three 25 mL positions in a different configuration around the handle
- The PSD-100/110 has five 25 mL positions around the handle.
