1. Overview
The purpose of this document is to list known problems in the software and any known workarounds or recovery paths.
2. Known Problem Summary
The following is a summary of the known problems in the software. This is not an exhaustive list, but is a list of the problems a customer is most likely to encounter. This list cross-references items in our Defect tracking database.

3. Known Problems Detailed Description
The following is the detailed descriptions of the known problems in the QQQ software. This section includes more extensive information from our defect tracking database. This section also includes any known workarounds or recovery paths.
3.1 Installation

Setting ALS SL thermostat to off prompts MassHunter to become not ready. The not ready message is “cooling samples”. |

Specify a temperature for the ALS-SL. . |

Description |
If a user uninstalls and reinstalls the QQQ software, the settings for the Instrument Actuals panel |

Workaround |
Right-click on the Actuals panel in the newly installed QQQ software to get to the Setup dialog. This will enable the user to put in new Actual settings. |

|
Description |
Starting with MassHunter Workstation B.01.04, any directory path for the acquisition software can be specified as the destination location for the program. Installation creates any directories that did not pre-exist and proceeds to completion. However, not all functionality is available. |

Workaround |
Choose MassHunter Workstation Acquisition default installation location for program files. |

Ion source field is blank at first startup for 6460 using ESI with Agilent Jet Stream Technology. |

Description |
When the G6460A Triple Quad LC/MS first starts up using ESI with Agilent Jet Stream Technology, the ion source field is blank. Due to the new technology, ESI has to be chosen first as the ionization technique. |
|
Workaround |
Choose ESI for the ion source field, and ESI with Agilent Jet Stream Technology will be available. |

Multimode Ion Source does not work with B.02.01 |
|
Description |
The "IonSource" field in the method has been modified in Acquisition to be "MultiMode" from "MMI". This makes the Optimizer incompatible with Multimode methods on B.02.01. |

MassHunter Workstation Acquisition cannot restart LC detector module if failure occurs. |
|
Description |
If a LC detector (like VWD or DAD) loses power or get its LAN disconnected during a worklist acquisition, the module goes gray (offline), and the worklist stops. MassHunter Workstation Acquisition cannot turn on the LC detector again to a ready status. |
|
Workaround |
Restart MassHunter Workstation Acquisition is required if LC device power failure occurs or LAN gets disconnected (on the CAN bus). |

Description |
If a configured LC detector (like VWD or DAD) get its LAN disconnected during startup, MassHunter Workstation Acquisition does not start. |

Restart MassHunter Workstation Acquisition is required once LAN gets re-connected (CAN bus). |

Unable to Change Parameters in Manual Tune In New Installations. |
|
Description |
With B.01.04 and B.02.01, a new software installation does not allow changes in manual tune without starting an autotune first. If there is a no ion problem with the instrument, the first step in troubleshooting includes setting width gain to 100 and width offset to 4 ("opening" the quads). These do not work for new installations with no corresponding changes noted in the real time plot. |

Workaround |
Start an initial autotune first. Whether it passes or fails, changing parameters in Manual Tune now work. |
3.2 Tuning

Collision Cell Gas will not be turned on before Autotune and Checktune start. |
|
Description |
Autotune and Checktune should properly be run with the Collision Cell Gas turned on. If the user turns the Collision Cell Gas off, and then initiates an Autotune or a Checktune, these programs will not turn it back on. If the user puts the instrument into Standby mode, and then turns it On, the Collision Cell Gas will be turned On. |

Workaround |
Do not turn the Collision Cell Gas off. There is no need to turn the Collision Cell Gas off. It uses very little gas (~2 ml/min at atmospheric pressure). When in Standby mode, the system automatically sets the Collision Cell Gas to one-half its factory set value. When the instrument is turned to On mode, the Collision Cell Gas is turned on. |

Axis and width offset parameters settings sometimes stay dynamically ramped when Manual Tuning. |
|
Description |
In Manual Tune, disabling the dynamic ramp parameters for axis and width offsets does not stay. That is, axis and width offsets stay dynamically ramped even if tune file is saved as another file after disabling. |

Description |

Check the Tune Parameters in the Tune context. |
3.3 Acquisition

A worklist does not abort when LC slave module loses power. |
|
Description |
If an LC slave module (i.e. not containing the network card) is powered off during a worklist run, it only partially aborts. Abort requests appear in the system log, but are not executed. If the LC module is powered on again its device icon shows it as available, but you can neither stop nor abort the worklist. |

Workaround |
Restart MassHunter Workstation. |

Description |

With the introduction of MassHunter Workstation B.01.04, 200 MRM Scan Segments are allowed. For scan or specifically using MS2Scan, there is a memory limitation constraining this to only 4 Scan Segments. This affects MS2Scan, Product Ion Scan, and Neutral Loss/Gain acquisition modes. |

Please restrict acquisition modes using MS2Scan to no more than 4 segments. |

Description |
There is a ghost peak in acquisition B.02.00 or B.02.01 pass the 3000 m/z. It is large and can tower over actual data in RTP. However, it seems to be only onscreen (and on RTP). One system starts to display this peak when in MS2 scan in acquisition from 50 to 1850. At 50 to 1800, all is normal. At 50 to 1850, the peak starts to take form. At 50 t0 1900, it becomes greater. At 50 to 3000, there is great abundance. |

Description |
Injector program works fine alone. Start overlap at works fine alone. If both turned on, the overlapped injection never happens, and other strange things happen.
For example: First injection, both pumps (running ACR) never change to Run blue from the Waiting magenta color, MS runs stops at 0.7min rather than 2 min as specified in Pump1 tab. Next injections, all modules go Blue at start and run goes to 2min Stop, but no injection is ever made. |
