Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is an extension of diffusion weighted imaging (DWI), in which the anisotropic property of water diffusion is investigated in vivo. It is used in the visualization and diagnosis of white matter tract disorders in the brain and has been successfully applied in the investigation of several white matter disorders such as multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, traumatic brain injury, and dyslexia. The DTI software package is a post-processing enhancement to the
VnmrJ platform and offers several Diffusion-Weighted Sequences. The options panel enables easy customization of a selected diffusion protocol allowing adjustment of the number of directions in which diffusion is measured and gradient amplitude required.
