New Agilent chromatography syringes simplify sample prep, enhancement and injection

By Lindy Miller
Agilent GC and MS Consumables Product Manager

The critical steps of sample preparation, enhancement and injection require precise measurement, transport and delivery of liquids, but these are often tedious and time-consuming tasks. To help simplify them, Agilent has added two new lines to its manual and automatic syringe product offerings.

Color speaks volumes

The brilliant color, easy storage and eco-friendly packaging make Agilent’s new Manual Syringes easy to use, and easy to identify without compromising performance. The syringes come in a wide variety of needle tips, terminations and volumes to better serve the needs of your particular applications.

The most striking feature of this new product line is the color-coded barrels that make syringe identification simple. Each denomination – from 0.5 µL to 50 mL – has a distinct color boldly printed on the glass barrel for faster and easier identification. No more searching through the drawer or squinting to read the scale in order to select the correct syringe for sample enhancement.

In addition to the denomination-specific, color-coded barrels, this first-to-market line of syringes makes life in the laboratory a bit brighter and easier with:

  • Easy-to-read vertical scales
  • Incorporated bench top storage
  • Eco-friendly packaging

These new syringes are also designed to keep the syringe – and you – safe between uses, thanks to the easy-to-read volume scale and the recyclable packaging that doubles as a syringe stand.

The syringes are made to the highest quality standards for accuracy and reproducibility, are lot traceable and come with a Certificate of Conformance that ensures the syringes meet exacting Agilent standards.

New automatic sampler syringes expand capabilities and productivity

With expanded capacity to 150 samples, the new Agilent 7693A automatic liquid sampler (ALS) automates frequently performed sample preparation tasks, such as:

  • Internal standard addition
  • Sample dilution
  • Sandwich injection mode
  • Simple sample derivitization

The new “blue line” syringes are designed to work with the 7693A ALS for even greater productivity. Available in new 250 µl and 500 µl volumes as well as the full suite of volumes from 0.5 µl to 100 µl, these new syringes:

  • Deliver better accuracy via alignment with the Agilent autosampler stroke
  • Provide longer plunger lifetime
  • Show less wear on inlet septa due to a superior needle finish
  • Are fully compatible with Agilent’s earlier autosamplers
  • Have excellent results for low carry over between samples

In addition, Agilent’s blue line of autosampler syringes are delivered in environmentally friendly, easy to open packaging with no styrofoam and no blister packs to peel. This new syringe packaging serves the dual purpose of protecting the syringe during shipment, and storage for easy syringe value identification.

Agilent’s new color-coded Manual Syringes and blue line automated sample syringes are designed to enhance productivity and ease of use along every step of your sampling process.
