This course is designed for those who want to enhance their skills in the use of an Agilent GC-MSD and ChemStation. If you are using EnviroQuant software, refer to H4050A or H4053A.

Outline:

Day One: MSD Hardware and Tuning; GC-MSD Maintenance
Day Two: Data Acquisition in SCAN & SIM
Day Three: Qualitative Data Analysis; Library Concepts / Library Search Reports; Quantitative Data Analysis; Integration; Calibrated Reports
Day Four: Custom Reports; RPN Commands; Introduction to Macro Programming
Day Five: Sequencing; Course Review; Additional Topics

Prerequisites:

Practical Gas Chromatography (R1915A) or a fundamental knowledge of gas chromatography. Techniques of GC-MS (H4040A) or a fundamental knowledge of mass spectrometry. At least one month experience using your Agilent GC-MSD. A basic understanding of Windows is assumed.

Equipment:

Agilent 6890-5973/5975 GC-MSD using MS ChemStation. Agilent 6890/5973 systems only in Canada.

Student Profile:

A novice user of the Agilent GC-MSD ChemStation who has a fundamental knowledge of gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.
