Description:

This course is designed for those who have the responsibility for the preventive maintenance and first level repair of the Agilent 6890 GC.

Introduction: Instrument walk-around - Laboratory Exercise
Hardware Familiarization: Agilent 6890 Keyboard - Laboratory Exercise; Instrument checkout - Laboratory Exercise
Inlets: Packed Inlet - Laboratory Exercise; Split/Splitless Inlet - Laboratory Exercise
Detectors: TCD Detector - Laboratory Exercise; FID Detector - Laboratory Exercise
Automatic Liquid Sampler (ALS): Laboratory Exercise
Electronics: Laboratory Exercise
Remote Diagnostics
Chromatographic Troubleshooting

Prerequisites:

Practical Gas Chromatography (R1915A) or at least three months experience with the operation of the Agilent 6890.

Equipment:

Agilent 6890 Gas Chromatograph with Packed Inlet & Split/Splitless inlets, Flame Ionization & Thermal Conductivity detectors and Agilent 7673 Autosampler. This course uses the Agilent ChemStation as the instrument controller.

Student Profile:

Operators with preventive maintenance responsibilities or instrument technicians with first level maintenance responsibilities.
