There are many definitions of the term proteomics. In its broadest sense,
proteomics represents the search to establish the identities, quantities,
structures and biochemical and cellular functions of all proteins in an
organism or organ.
As amino acids are the basic building blocks in all proteins, they play an
integral role in all protein research. There are over twenty essential amino
acids and each one of them is unique.
Poster
Agilent Technologies has a wide portfolio of proteomics solutions
specifically
designed to assist protein chemists in their studies.
We have also created an attractive and informative poster depicting the
essential amino acids. The poster includes class definition, number of
codons,
residue mass and one and three letter codes, as well as the structure of
each acid.

Screensaver
The Agilent table of amino acids screensaver is also available for download.
This dynamic desktop art is an attractive way to customize your computer and
will also give you access to additional information not contained in the
poster.
When you return to your PC after attending to a task in the lab, you will be
greeted by a screen of swimming molecules which random selectors then
transform
into one of the 20 amino acid structures.
Alternatively, you can use the mouse to select any acid and reveal useful
information about its character and discovery.
Access to the download of this screensaver (2.3MB, Windows only) is limited to registered customers only. Click here to login or become a registered user and enjoy exclusive benefits such as in-depth technical resources and personalized news updates.
