Introducing: the New HP 1100 Series HPLC Systems
Modular HPLC - Automatic Validation And
Low Cost of Ownership
HewlettPackard's new HPLC modules and systems answer a
pressing question: How can today's laboratory do more with less?
For laboratory managers faced with complex regulatory and QC
standards and evershrinking laboratory budgets, the new HP 1100
Series meets this challenge headon.
Based on the successful modular design of the HP 1050 systems,
the new HP 1100 Series fits in a single stack, on minimal bench
space. All maintenance parts are accessible from the front. The
system arrives from the factories with more builtin
validation capabilities than any competitive HPLC. Its innovative design,
engineering and manufacturing features translate into the
lowest
cost of ownership.
Modules Offer Analytical Flexibility
The HP 1100 Series offers a comprehensive selection of modules
that work with any HPLC system and can be combined to make up
a variety of systems.
Choice of Pumping Systems
All pumps come with purge valve, connecting tubing, solvent
cabinet, and solvent bottles for convenient startup.
- Isocratic for routine quality control analysis
- Highpressure binary gradient for lowest dispersion
and highest precision at low flow rates
- Lowpressure quaternary gradient for highest flexibility
Vacuum Degasser
Online vacuum degasser offers reduced operating costs and
ensures highest instrument performance, with no need for helium.
Large Column Compartment
- Accommodates multiple columns
- With Peltier heating/cooling for convenient,
stable operation - above, below and at ambient
temperature
- With column identification module for automated
GLP documentation and traceability of column parameters
Automated Liquid Sampler
- Advanced design for fast access to different vial sizes
- Precise, programmable injection volumes - from 0.1 µL to 1.5 mL
- Builtin injector program for automated precolumn
derivatization.
A Choice of UV Detectors
Two lamps in the HP 1100 Series diodearray detector ensure the highest light
output from 190 to 950 nm, for the lowest detection limits over the entire wavelength
range. The use of 1,024 diodes and an optical slit programmable from 1 to 16 nm ensures the best possible
spectral bandwidth.
They come with builtin wavelength verification. Choose from
programmable variablewavelength or diodearray detectors. Both
detectors use a holmium oxide filter for automated wavelength
verification and for tracking the detector's performance
characteristics. They also employ a new design that was
optimized for improved sensitivity and allows front access
for the exchange of flow cells and prealigned lamps.
ChemStation or Handheld Controller
The HP 1100 Series system is controlled through either a
multitechnique HP ChemStation or the new handheld control module.
The HP ChemStation controls and evaluates data from up to four HP
analytical systems (LC/CE/GC); it can be networked within the
laboratory and linked to enterprise networks.
Maximizing Uptime and Productivity
The features of the HP 1100 Series directly help laboratories
achieve higher uptime:
- Fieldproven components. HP 1100 modules incorporate
design elements that have been proven successful for
several decades, reducing failure rates.
- Extensive diagnostics. Software
for onsite and remote troubleshooting can identify
most failures for speedy repair.
- Preventive maintenance tips. Suggested scheduled
maintenance times and howto procedures are presented
on CDROM. Timely exchange of maintenance parts reduces
failure rates.
- Easytorepair design. The unique EPAC enclosure
reduces assembly/disassembly time by more than 70%.
