Join Us! In March, Agilent
introduced the 1200 Series LC system,
replacing its market-leading 1100
Series LC. This is the most comprehensive
LC System available with more
than 60 instrument modules with a
large range of ZORBAX columns.
We also introduced the 1200 Rapid
Resolution System, which provides 20
times faster analysis and 60 percent
higher resolution than conventional LC,
making it twice as fast and three times
as precise as the competitions best
systems. Find out more by attending
the afternoon LC and LC/MS talks!
The morning session will feature talks
for GC and GC/MS users and will discuss
the secrets of utilizing Electronic
Pressure Control (EPC) for optimum
performance, the importance of GC
column dimension (Fast GC) and the
impact that microfluidics has had in
terms of flexibility and enhancing the
analyst’s overall capabilities.
Please join us for either a half or full
day of these informative presentations
on practical approaches to improving
the chromatographic performance in
your laboratory.
All the performance.
All the time. |

Utilizing EPC in GC and GC/MS for Optimum Results
Proper use of electronic pneumatic control (EPC) of GC carrier gas is critical to modern GC and GC/MS
performance. This presentation will explore the utility of EPC and discuss the opportunities to use it in a practical
and beneficial way. Topics covered include carrier flow ramping, constant pressure/constant flow/constant
velocity operation, setting and optimizing flows, and choice of carrier gas (He, H2, N2). |

Microfluidics Devices – Adding a Degree of Freedom and Flexibility
Deans Switching has been around since 1968 but has suffered from hardware limitations and manual controlled
devices. Recent developments have automated this so that it is simple for the analysts to take advantage
of this wonderful tool. This seminar will discuss microfluidic device applications including heart-cutting,
2-dimensional chromatography and the use of the Agilent Quick Swap in GC/MS. |

Optimizing the GC Column Dimensions for Faster Analyses
The selection of capillary GC column dimensions—length and internal diameter—is complicated by the wide
range in column choices. Oftentimes, a longer than necessary length is selected, leading to slow analysis times.
Many analysts will find that existing methods may benefit by migrating to shorter (i.e. from 30 to 20 m),
narrower columns (from 0.25 to 0.18 mm) without any loss of resolution. The complementary GC method
software, “GC Method Translator”, will be discussed and utilized to demonstrate how easily these methods
can be translated.

More Choices: Introducing the New 1200 Series LC System and the
New
Rapid Resolution LC
How do you follow the most successful HPLC in the world? The 1200 is reverse-compatible with the 1100, and
offers capability for “semi-prep” through capillary-, nano- and high resolution/fast LC. You get the best of both
worlds, without compromising any performance at all! This talk will describe the 1200 system and how you can
pick the configuration that best serves your needs |

More choices in LC/MS: Introducing the 6000 Series LC/MS systems
The Agilent 6000 Series of LC/MS systems includes new triple quadrupole and Q-TOF instruments, as well as
new models of Agilent's single quadrupole, ion trap, and TOF mass spectrometers. The 6000 Series brings new
levels of performance to LC/MS, and is uniquely differentiated by providing levels of reliability and ease of use
not found in current LC/MS systems from other vendors. Proprietary technologies in hardware and applicationspecific
software bring both state-of-the-art performance and maximum productivity to your laboratory |

All the Performance: The Secrets of Rapid Resolution LC—
Ultra-fast and High-resolution Separations in LC and LC/MS with
1.8 μm ZORBAX RRHT Columns
Rapid Resolution HT 1.8μm, columns are in high demand today because of their ability to provide outstanding
performance in both high throughput and high resolution applications. To maximize performance results with
this new column technology, several key column parameters had to be studied and optimized. This presentation
will review these key parameters, the impact on the column and the columns’ use in the analytical laboratory. |
