Situation: 
On February 13, 2009 the software for the Agilent 6410 Triple Quad LC/MS went 
through a release for a patch version that addresses known problem summarized 
in the Software Status Bulletin and documented in Service Notes.  For 
MassHunter Workstation QQQ Acquisition B.01.04 Patch 2, the following have 
been addressed:

--  SCR# 12696 "Only 4 Scan Segments allowed when in MS2Scan Mode."  Any 
acquisition with MS2 in Scan needs to be limited to 4 Scan Segments in 
MassHunter Acq. B.01.04 per Service Note G6410A-53.  So for MS2Scan, Product 
Ion Scan, and Neutral Loss, the Scan Segments are temporarily limited to 4.

--  SCR# 12717 "Dipping Quad Drivers may return nanKHz Value."  Per Service 
Note G6410A-57 pipping Quad Drivers may return nanKHz Value with Firmware 
version A.04.99.  New Quad Driver dipping algorithm corrects this issue with 
the included firmware version A.05.107.

--  SCR# 13363 "Positive-Negative Swtiching in Same Time Segment Works for 
G6410A and G6410A-2k."  G6410A and G6410A-2k QQQ LC/MS do not support Positive-
Negative Switching in the Same Segment per Service Note G6410A-64.  

--  SCR# 14163 "Lens2DC and Lens2RF dynamic ramps can be disabled."  Do not
save Tune File in MS2 Scan, MS2 SIM, or MS2 Profile in Manual Tune Context from
Service Note G6410A-70 is superseded. 

--  ALS-SL+ name correction for G1367D as reported in Service Note G6410A-63.

--  Firmware A.04.105 now places the instrument into standby when certain 
sources are opened.  It has been identified that some sources like electrospray
(ESI) when opened turn off the voltages , but the instrument stays ready (green icon).    

Solution/Action: 
To install Patch 2:

1)  Shutdown MassHunter Acquisition rev. B.01.04 or B.01.04 Patch 1 and shut 
down the Engines (or MassHunter processes).  

2)  Copy the file 'QQQ Acq B.01.04 Patch 02.zip' to the hard drive of the 
instrument control PC.

3)  Uncompress 'QQQ Acq B.01.04 Patch 01.zip' to an accessible location and in 
the folder, locate 'QQQ Acq B.01.04 Patch 02.exe'

4)  Double-click on the file 'QQQ Acq B.01.04 Patch 02.exe'.  When prompted, 
click on OK.  The patch will install.

5)  Enter the instrument IP address default of 192.168.254.12 to initiate 
firmware update when prompted.  Afterwards, power cycle the instrument or 
reset the smartcard to complete successful update,  and click on OK for patch 
completion

6)  If the instrument control PC has had an Installation Qualification (IQ) 
run on it and when the patch is complete, the user will be prompted to run an 
Installation Qualification Test (IQT).  The test will verify that the patch is 
correctly installed.

Additional Information: 
Patch 2 is a cumulative patch that includes all the updates for Patch 1.  This
includes:

--  Support for the new G1367D 1200 LC series high performance autosampler, 
ALS-SL+ (minimum LC firmware A.06.12).  

--  Support for G3793AA MassHunter Optimizer software version B.01.04 SR-1. 

--  Improved QQQ firmware A.04.104 for better positive-negative switching reliability,

Therefore, Service Note G6410A-63 "Release of Patch 1 for MassHunter 
Workstation QQQ B.01.04 Acquisition" is superseded. 

MassHunter Workstation B.01.04 Patch 2 will be pre-installed on the HP 
Workstaion bundles starting in February.  Please verify firmware on QQQ 
instrument matches as version A.00.4.105.  Install as necessary.
