Software Status Bulletin

LMD      G4800AA-LC

Known Problem Report as of Mar 18 2008 5:10PM

Preface
-------------------------
This Software Status Bulletin (SSB) documents all known problems in the software product designated above. The SSB is derived from Known Problem Reports (KPR) which result from user problems that have been classified as documentation problems or software defects. When a KPR is written, an identifying number is assigned to it, and the KPR is added to the next edition of the SSB.

User inputs that have been classified as Enhancement Requests are not documented in the SSB. User problems that have been submitted, but that have not been classified by the time the SSB is generated are not included in the SSB.

How to use the SSB
-------------------------
When you experience a problem with a product, first check this SSB to see if the problem has been reported already, and if there is a temporary workaround available for the problem, or if the problem has already been fixed by a new revision. If the problem is not listed in this SSB then you may wish to report it to the Response Center or to your field support representative.

To determine if your problem is documented in this SSB, first look in the "Keyword Index" section of the SSB. Under each keyword is a listing of one-line descriptions of related KPRs. If any of these sound like yours, locate the KPR # in the "Known Problem Reports" section of the SSB, and read the full KPR. The KPRs in the "Known Problem Reports" section are sorted by KPR #.

There are two sections in the SSB:
Keyword Index: This index is categorized by keyword. For each KPR there is a brief description and a KPR #. A KPR may be associated with more than one keyword.

Known Problem Reports: This section contains KPRs, with all the available information relevant to the problem. KPRs in this section are sorted by KPR #.

KPR#: 2000    Product: LMD     G4600AA-GC & G4800AA-LC     A.02.01

Keyword: n/a

One-line Description:
Injection Based EMF counters do not Cause Not Ready State

Problem:

for 7890s when the defined error threshold of an injection based counter is crossed and the Counter has the "Set Not Ready" option checked, the GC does not go into a Not Ready State. however Time Based counters will set not Ready.

Temporary Solution:

No workaround exists

Fix Information:

KPR#: 1988    Product: LMD     G4800AA-LC     A.02.01

Keyword: EMF

One-line Description:
Changing EMF limit not possible while EZChrom is controlling the instrument

Problem:

Changing the limit for a resource in the EMF screen does not work. The value is overwritten by the limit set for this resource in the CDS.

Temporary Solution:

The limits must be entered in the CDS

Fix Information:

Fix planned for revision A.02.02

KPR#: 1928    Product: LMD     G4800AA-LC     A.02.01

Keyword: Instrument Control

One-line Description:
GUI damaged

Problem:

A potential resource consumption affects the GUI, when more than one instrument is connected to one LMD session.

Temporary Solution:

This effect was recurent whith more than one instrument connected to one LMD session. The workaround here is to connect one instrument per LMD session.

Fix Information:

n/a

KPR#: 1938    Product: LMD     G4800AA-LC     A.02.01

Keyword: Instrument Control

One-line Description:
Uncaught exception monitoring 4 instruments

Problem:

If LMD connects to more than 1 Compact LC, the monitoring performance might slow down.

Temporary Solution:

Connect only one instrument per LMD session.

Fix Information:

Fix planned for A.02.02

KPR#: 2068    Product: LMD     G4800AA-LC     A.02.01

Keyword: Instrument Control

One-line Description:
Unable to switch between instruments via drop down box in status report

Problem:

If more than one Compact LC is connected per LMD session, using the drop down box in the upper right corner to change the instrument does not work properly.

Temporary Solution:

Return to Lab at a Glance view, select the desired instrument and go back to the Status Report window.

Fix Information:

Fix planned for A.02.02

KPR#: 1735    Product: LMD     G4800AA-LC     A.02.01

Keyword: Status Report

One-line Description:
Status report printout does not fit A4

Problem:

Incorrect printout when A4 size is selected in the page setup settings.

Temporary Solution:

Set the right or left margin to zero in the Page Setup.

Fix Information:

KPR#: 2088    Product: LMD     G4800AA-LC     A.02.01

Keyword: Status Report

One-line Description:
Remove default size of 8.5x13 from Page Setup in Status Report

Problem:

Printing the Status Report needs more than one click.

Temporary Solution:

The standard printout setting for the status report in LMD is 8.5x13. This setting is for most printers not usual. Workaround 1: Fit the printer settings in the LMD Status Report with the defined settings on the printer. Workaround 2: Export the report to pdf and print the pdf file.

Fix Information:

KPR#: 2089    Product: LMD     G4800AA-LC     A.02.01

Keyword: Status Report

One-line Description:
Keep the Page Setup and don't reset it to default after new report is generated

Problem:

The default printer format in the LMD Status Report printer settings is 8.5x13. Changing these settings is possible but they are overwritten by the 8.5x13 default settings each time the "Show Report" buttom is pressed.

Temporary Solution:

If 8.5x13 is not your printer printing format, adapt the printer settings in the LMD Status Report page and press the print button. Note: Pressing the "Show Report" button brings the default 8.5x13 settings back.

Keyword: Test & Calibration

One-line Description:
LMD must implement a concept for locking instrument resources (LC) during tests

Problem:

LMD actually does not lock the instrument during a test/tool/calibration. Due to this a running procedure can be aborted or produce incorrect results or instrument states if another controller starts running an analysis or sequence.

Temporary Solution:

When a test or a calibration is running on LMD do not start a run or a sequence in EZChrome.
