Software Status Bulletin
LMD G4600AA-GC
Known Problem Report as of Mar 18 2008 5:10PM
Preface
-------------------------
This Software Status Bulletin (SSB) documents all known problems in the software product designated above. The SSB is derived from Known Problem Reports (KPR) which result from user problems that have been classified as documentation problems or software defects. When a KPR is written, an identifying number is assigned to it, and the KPR is added to the next edition of the SSB.
User inputs that have been classified as Enhancement Requests are not documented in the SSB. User problems that have been submitted, but that have not been classified by the time the SSB is generated are not included in the SSB.
How to use the SSB
-------------------------
When you experience a problem with a product, first check this SSB to see if the problem has been reported already, and if there is a temporary workaround available for the problem, or if the problem has already been fixed by a new revision. If the problem is not listed in this SSB then you may wish to report it to the Response Center or to your field support representative.
To determine if your problem is documented in this SSB, first look in the "Keyword Index" section of the SSB. Under each keyword is a listing of one-line descriptions of related KPRs. If any of these sound like yours, locate the KPR # in the "Known Problem Reports" section of the SSB, and read the full KPR. The KPRs in the "Known Problem Reports" section are sorted by KPR #.
There are two sections in the SSB:
Keyword Index: This index is categorized by keyword. For each KPR there is a brief description and a KPR #. A KPR may be associated with more than one keyword.
Known Problem Reports: This section contains KPRs, with all the available information relevant to the problem. KPRs in this section are sorted by KPR #.

One-line Description:
S/SL Pressure Decay test will not change inlet to Split - test will fail
Problem:
|
S/SL Pressure Decay test The inlet must be set to SPLIT or the test will fail. Executing the test will not change the inlet from Splitless to Split. The way the test is set up, it will fail if the inlet is Splitless. When the GC inlet is splitless, Septum purge remains on and the GC will never ready after the inlet is capped off. |

Keyword: Chromatographic Attribute
One-line Description:
ChromAttrib: enlarged display loses various sections of plotted chromatograms
Problem:
|
When the right mouse button is dragged slowly along the amplitude axis the level of magnification of the two overlaid chromatograms is adjusted. Sections of one or both of the chromatograms, their labels and the background "grid" start mysteriously to disappear and then reappear. This behavior appears to cycle as the magnification changes so that a "missing" display can be recovered if the magnification is carefully adjusted. |

KPR#: 1769 Product: LMD G4600AA-GC A.02.01
Keyword: Chromatographic Attribute
One-line Description:
unable to reuse the name of a rejected standard
Problem:
|
While running chromatographic attributes to acquire a standard and using any given standard name. Rejecting the standard and leaving the CA screen disables the ability to reuse the same name. When returning to the CA screen to run another standard using the previously used name the message "standard name already in use" appears. |
Temporary Solution:
|
If you do not navigate away from chromatographic attributes before trying to re use the name then the user can reuse the name. Or If you delete the standard name and then navigate away from the page and come back then you can reuse the name. |

Keyword: Report
One-line Description:
Status Report - Setpoints not reported as Off
Problem:
|
In the status report, the inlet pressure and flow and the detector flows are not reported as Off if they are turned off. Instead, they are reported as what they would be if they were turned on. For example, set the flow to 10 ml/min and turn it on. The status report shows the value as 10 ml/min. Turn the flow off, and the report still shows 10 ml/min. This is confusing and a problem when diagnosing a problem, as the setpoint can be shown as a relatively high value but actually be off. |
