				In the environmental analysis market, Agilent tools help to protect the natural environment and human health by enabling scientists to test for contaminants in air, water and soil, such as pesticides, metals and other hazardous toxins and pollutants.
				Food safety testing includes the analysis of agricultural products and foods, with a focus on regulatory compliance and enforcement. This rapidly growing market is being driven by the liberalization of global trade, an increasingly stringent regulatory environment and heightened public awareness of food safety issues.
				Agilent provides tools for forensic analysis to law enforcement, government, academia and private industry for drug screening, toxicology research and forensic investigation. Since 1972, Agilent has supplied analysis equipment to the labs who do drug testing for the Olympics.
				For more than two decades, Agilent has worked with government, military, law enforcement and health agencies in support of homeland security. Our tools enable the detection, identification and confirmation of biological and chemical agents and toxic industrial compounds.
				The hydrocarbon processing industry (HPI) includes the petrochemical, fine and specialty chemical, natural gas, industrial gas and fuel cell markets. Agilent is the leading provider of analytical instrumentation to this industry, with the largest installed base of GC and LC customers.
